Choosing a Cypress Moving Company

Right Movers in Cypress moving company truck

Moving time. It can be exciting. It can be stressful. It can be scary. You need to move all of your stuff from your old house to your new house and the thought can be a bit overwhelming. You have two choices at this point – do it yourself (probably with the help of some very good friends) or hire a Cypress moving company to help you out. While you can do it yourself, that will definitely up the stress level that you feel and we have seen some homeowners lose or damage their belongings totally unnecessarily. We would love the chance to talk to you to see if you think that Right Movers will be right for helping you to move.

So how do you know if a Cypress moving company is the right one for you? It is a great question because there are a lot of bad moving companies out there and we hear horror stories all the time about companies that look to take advantage of a homeowner on their moving day. You need to find a moving company that is honest, that stands behind their work, and that has a lot of happy customers that are happy to review them. We take pride in being all of those things, and you can check out our yelp page to see all of our reviews (112 at the time of posting with a 5 star rating)!

5 Question to Ask any Cypress Movers

1. Are you insured and licensed?

This is a big one because you are trusting this company with all of your things. Accidents can happen, so you want to make sure that you are covered if the worst happens. But this also will help you to weed out any of the fly-by-night scam companies that cannot even be bothered to get the proper insurance and licensing.

2. How do you bill and what is included?

Different moving companies will figure their rates in different ways. Make sure that you understand what you are being charged and what is/is not included in those prices. Moving companies are famous for quoting a low price and then breaking the news to you on moving day that certain things are not included and your actual price will be MUCH higher. Ask questions and get everything in writing!

3. How long have you been in business?

You don’t want a brand new moving company because you do not want to be the customers that they “learn” on. You want a company that has a wealth of experience. A company that knows how to move anything that you can throw at them because they have done it all before. A moving company that has been around at least a few years with lots of reviews and references will be able to handle even your difficult moves.

4. Where can I see your reviews online?

Check their references of course, but anyone should be able to pick out 5 references that will speak well of them (who know, you may be speaking to the owner’s mother!). Online reviews at places like Yelp are a lot more accurate and will give you a pretty good idea of how a company treats their customers. Look at the amount of reviews and look at how the company handles any negative reviews. And read through reviews to make sure that they are not left by duress. I have actually seen reviews on Yelp that said that the person was leaving the review because the company would not release their things without him leaving a positive review.

5. How do you handle your estimates?

Your move is unique. You don’t want a cookie cutter estimate because there is no way it will be accurate. If a company tells you that they can do an estimate over the phone (except in extreme rush moves, and those should include lots of pictures) then you should try another company. A good Cypress moving company will take the time to look at your home and the amount and types of belongings that you have. That is the only way that an accurate estimate can be given.

What to Look For in a Buena Park Moving Company

Our brand new Buena Park moving company truck

So you bought or rented a new house and you are excited about moving into the new place… and then it hits you – you are going to have to move ALL of your stuff to the new place. You look out into the driveway and see that neither of your cars are going to do much good. You have a couple of friends with trucks, but do they want to spend a couple days lugging all of your stuff around? So you need to hire a Buena Park moving company. How do you go about picking the right one?

It is a great question to ask because there are a lot of scam (or just really bad) moving companies out there. However, I’ll give you some things that you should ask your moving company before you even think about hiring them. You are trusting this company with all of your belongings and you want to make sure that they arrive at the new place, safely and in one piece AND that they don’t charge you an astronomical price to do it.

5 Question to Ask any Buena Park Movers

1. How long have you been in business?

This one is obvious, but many times we forget to ask. It is important to choose a company that has been around for a little while so that they have enough experience to move your things safely. You don’t want the company to “learn” with your things. You want a moving company that has seen it all before and will know exactly what to do in any moving situation.

2. Are they licensed and insured?

Technically this is two questions in one. You want to make sure that the company that you choose has a US Department of Transportation number (and make sure it is a valid number!) if you are moving across state lines. If you’re staying in California, make sure that the company has a Cal T license. Insurance is also important for obvious reasons. It is a move and anything can happen (no matter how good or how careful your moving company is). You want to make sure that you are covered if anything is lost or broken.

3. What do their rates include?

Rates can be figured in many different ways. Make sure that you ask questions and fully understand the rates and get an estimate in writing. If they provide references, make sure that you ask them if they stuck to their estimate. Many moving companies in Buena Park will give a low estimate and then raise their prices dramatically once they show up to actually do the move.

4. Do they have reviews online?

Of course you want to check the references that they give, but an unscrupulous moving company can give anyone as a reference. But companies do not have control over what is written about them on sites like Yelp and Google+. Make sure that you look on sites like that and see what the reviews are like. Of course a single bad review shouldn’t keep you from using a company. You should look at what the general consensus is and how the company replies to any negative reviews.

5. Do they do estimates over the phone or in person?

You have unique items. You want to choose a moving company that will take the time to do an in-home estimate so that they know what they will be moving. This allows them to give a much more accurate estimate and keeps you from getting any surprises on moving day.

Choosing The Right Moving Company in Santa Ana, CA

Santa Ana moving company moving another satisfied customer

Not every Santa Ana moving company is the same. A quick search will get you anything from huge, national companies to one man shops that rent trucks every time they have a move. And because of this, the level of service that you will get from each company is also very different.

The first thing that you need to realize is that you have to think about what it is that you want before you can choose a moving company. Do you need full packing and unpacking services? Are you looking for the cheapest option, no matter the level of service? Do you have any specialty items that you need moved? Are you looking to move across the country or just across Santa Ana? All of these issues can have a big impact on what moving company is right for you.

What Should You Look For In A Moving Company

1 – Make sure that the company is licensed and insured

Think about this for a second – you are loading all of your worldly possessions into a truck, driven by a stranger. Of course you did your due diligence to make sure that the company has a good reputation and that the drivers will take care of your things. But even if the driver is the most careful person in the world, things can happen. And you do not want to find out after there is damage that the company is not insured. Make sure to ask if they are insured (and you may even want to see it in writing just to protect yourself).

2 – Hire a Company That Will Do an In Home Estimate

Phones are amazing inventions, but not everything can be done over the phone. If you want an accurate estimate, then the moving company will need to be able to see the items that they will be moving and take a look at how difficult it will be to get things out of your space. If you need full packing service, they need to know what kinds and how many boxes to bring. Of course in a pinch, you may be able to get a decent estimate by sending pictures to the company, but a good moving company will always prefer to do an in-home estimate.

And for you, this is very important to you as well. You want them to be able to take a look beforehand so that they can give you an accurate estimate. We hear horror stories all the time about people who got an estimate over the phone. Then, the movers show up and “see how much stuff needs to be moved” and quote a much higher price. The poor customer is trapped because they need to move and they know that they will not be able to get another moving company on short notice. So, get an in-home estimate in writing.

3 – Get Several Quotes

You are trusting the moving company that you choose with a lot of your things, so you want to make sure that you choose the right one. Don’t pick the cheapest just because of price. You will be sorry most of the time. You want to talk to the mover, ask all of the questions that you want answered, and choose the one that you trust with your move.

Placentia Moving Companies – How To Choose The Right One

Placentia moving company, Right Movers' new truck

Finding the right Placentia moving company can be tricky. Just like any industry, there are good moving companies and bad moving companies. Thankfully we do not live in the time when the phone book was the best and only real way to find a moving service. Now, the internet is full of information about companies as well as reviews on third party sites that let you get a lot more information about a moving company before you ever talk to them. This makes it so much easier to avoid getting stuck with one of the “scam” moving companies, and makes you much more likely to find a company that will do the job right.

How to Avoid a Bad Moving Company

Most of the bad moving companies out there fall into one of three categories. They rent their trucks from rental companies. They do work for moving brokers, never meeting the customer until the day of the move. They advertise exclusively on sites like craigslist with impossibly low rates (that magically increase once the move starts). You do not want to get stuck with any of these types of moving companies, so here are some tips to make sure that you choose the right Placentia moving company.

Tip#1 – Don’t Use Price as the Biggest Determining Factor

Of course price is a factor, it always is in any purchase decision. But in the moving industry, it is very common that the lowest price that you get quoted will probably not be accurate. We hear stories all of the time about homeowners who get quoted a price over the phone and schedule their move. However, once the movers get there, they have a story about how they didn’t realize that there would be so much stuff, or that the house is going to be harder to unload than they thought, etc. and that the price will be much higher than the quoted price. They do this because they can. By this point, the homeowner is counting on the moving company to move them that day. Often, they are at their deadline and do not have time to schedule a move with another moving company.

Tip # 2 – Don’t Deal With A Moving Broker

Moving brokers are basically sales teams that do not do the actual moving. They contract with moving companies to do the actual moving. And while some moving brokers are reputable and work with good moving companies, most are simply not very good. So make sure that you are dealing with the company that will actually be doing the move (ask about this!). You want to get a written estimate from the company that you will be dealing with. Otherwise, you are opening yourself up to the moving company showing up and explaining why it will cost more. It’s just better for you if you deal with the company who will be performing the move.

Tip #3 – Get an In Home Estimate

Many of the less reputable moving companies will offer estimates by phone. This is a bad sign. A good moving company will want to come out to your home to see what they will be moving so that they can give an accurate estimate. Sometimes, if schedules are tight, a good moving company will settle for pictures of the items, but for the most part they will want to see the home in person. That is because a good moving company will stick to the price that they quoted.

These are a few tips to help you to choose the right Orange County moving company. We hope that you will give us a chance to give you an estimate and we are confident that if you do, we will earn your business. We have many very satisfied customers – you can check our Yelp or Facebook reviews for proof!

Anaheim Moving Company – How to Choose One

Right Mover's Anaheim moving company truck in action!

If you are looking for an Anaheim moving company to help you with your move, whether it is a residential or commercial move, we would love the opportunity to work with you. However, we know that it is not about us, it is about you finding the mover that is right for you. To help you along in that process (full disclosure – we hope that you decide we are right for you!) we have an article for you to help you with the steps that you need to do in order to choose the right moving company.

Unfortunately there are a lot of bad moving companies out there and you want to make sure that you do not get stuck with one. We hear horror stories all the time (some right here in Anaheim) about people’s moves going incredibly wrong. Here are 4 things that you should do before your move to make sure that you do not end up with a horror story!

#1 – Get Recommendations from Friends and Family

The best place to start the search for a good Anaheim mover is to ask your friends and family who handled their move. If they were happy with the moving company that did their move, that is a great first step in finding your mover. We would really recommend finding 3-4 well recommended moving companies before you move on to step 2. Of course, you may not be able to get recommendations of 3-4 movers from your friends and family. If that is the case, head over to Yelp and find a company that has great reviews. Make sure to read over the reviews to make sure that they look real. The last thing you want is to find the company that only has good reviews because they had employees, friends, or family write them.

#2 – Get In-Home Estimates

Once you have your list of 3-4 companies, it is time to get estimates. You do not want phone estimates! There is n way that a good moving company can estimate the time that it will take, the amount of trucks needed, the amount of manpower necessary, etc. without actually seeing your belongings. Insist on an in-home estimate. If the company is unwilling, cross them off of your list. The phone estimate is the favorite tactic of the moving scam artist – they will quote you a low price, show up and look at your stuff, and make up a reason that they have to charge you MUCH more than your estimate. And of course, since it is moving day and you are under the gun, you either pay or have to scramble to find another way to get your stuff moved. In-Home, in writing estimates are the way to go!

#3 – Don’t Decide on Price Alone

Price is important. You don’t want to pay more for the same service. However, all moving service is not the same. The quality of the packing, the care that the movers take, and their cleanliness in your old and new home are just a few of the things that set movers apart. If you are moving valuables, it makes sense to choose the company that you get a good feeling from, and who you feel will stand behind their work – even if they cost a little bit more. Most of the horror stories that we hear start with the homeowner choosing the cheapest  moving service…

#4 – Check Their License and Insurance

Make sure that the Anaheim moving companies that you have do your estimates are licensed and insured. You want to make sure that your things are protected if something goes wrong in the move. And do not just take their word for it – ask to see it in writing so that you can be sure that you are protected.

Conclusion

You want to make sure that you choose the right moving service. You want your stuff to arrive safely and you want both of your houses to be left clean and undamaged. Choose a moving company that you feel will offer you all of this at a reasonable rate.

Irvine Moving Companies How to Choose the Right One?

our Irvine moving company truck working hard!

Just think of all of the moves that happen every day in Orange County. Most of those moves go off without a hitch – which is an amazing feat considering all of the things that can go wrong with a move. But how do you choose the right Irvine moving company so that yours goes smoothly?

Unfortunately there are a lot of bad moving companies out there, so you do have to be careful when you choose a moving company. You want to take your time and ask the right questions to make sure that the movers that you choose are not some kind of a scam artist or an amateur disguised as a legitimate company.

Make An Appointment Today And Save $20

Give us a Call Today at 714-800-3559 and we will take $20 off of the first hour of your move. Just mention that you saw this on our website!

Here are 5 things to look out for in choosing an Irvine moving company:

1. Always get an in home estimate

One of the biggest signs of a bad moving company is that they will give you an estimate over the phone. It is absolutely impossible to estimate how much a move will cost without seeing what needs to be moved, how difficult it will be to get the items out of the house, how much stuff there is, etc. A good moving company will come out to your house (or business if you are looking for a commercial mover) so that they can give you an accurate estimate. If you get an estimate by phone, expect that it is going to end up costing you a lot more come moving day. This is one of the “bad moving companies'” biggest scams. Also, make sure to get at least three estimates.

2. Do not pay a large deposit up front

This deals with another popular scam by some of the less reputable moving companies. They will charge a large deposit upfront, start the move, and then demand WAY more than their estimate in order to deliver your belongings. They will basically hold your stuff hostage until you pay the exorbitant amount. Don’t pay a large deposit and you protect yourself from this. The moving company should ask for payment upon delivery.

3. Deal with the company that will be moving you

One of the first questions that you should ask any moving company that comes out to perform an estimate is if they are the company that will be performing the actual move. You have to watch out for brokers and the use of subcontractors. Brokers only make the deal and then have another moving company do the move for them. Other moving companies will subcontract work out if they get busy. Either way, you lose control because you can no longer check out the company that will be handling your move. Only deal with movers that actually will be doing your move.

4. Check reviews and get references

We always recommend that you check with your friends and family first to see if they can recommend a good moving company. If that doesn’t work, check online review sites like yelp. Look for a lot of reviews and actually read them. Don’t disqualify a company if they have a couple of bad reviews, but look to see what the overwhelming sense is for the company. Do they take good care of the property they are moving? Do they stand behind their work? Do they show up on time? Are their estimates accurate? We also recommend asking for references. If you talk to someone who has actually used the moving service, ask them the questions that are most important to you to see if the company is a good fit for your move.

5. Make sure they are licensed and insured

This is a big one, and something that you absolutely need to ask (and probably see in writing). You are trusting all of your belongings to this Irvine moving company, you want to make sure that if something happens, you are protected.

Conclusion

Moving doesn’t have to be all that stressful if you take your time up front and choose the right moving company. If you follow these 5 steps you will be well on your way to picking the right movers for your job!
